This is the first year that our grandson, Brandon (the tallest kid on the right), has turned out for track so it was fun to see him experiencing a new sport.
Shot Put was the first event that we got to see. He threw 37 feet and something. This was his personal best and farther than any of the other participants that we saw that afternoon. Cool!
Next we watched Brandon throw the discuss. His throw was about 115 feet. His personal best is 117 feet.
We laughed for a few minutes after we took this picture. It was meant to get a picture of him going over the bar not when he landed on the mat. Need to work on the timing of snapping the pictures!
Now that is a little better. Brandon and two other participants cleared 5' 2" but none of them could clear the 5' 4" bar. Guess it was a 3 way tie! Brandon has cleared 5' 4" and 5' 6" in practice so maybe he can clear that at the next meet.
Brandon was also a member of a four man relay. They took 1st place.
