Visitors from California

Jeff and Elaine (Teri's brother and wife) visited Washington in May to spend time with Elaine's parents who live near Shelton.  All of us (Teri's sisters and their spouses plus our niece, Johanna) got together with them at Spiffy's near Hwy 12 and I5 (kinda met in the middle).
Pictured here are Kay and Lee in one picture and Johanna and Jeff in the other picture.
Love Coralee's silly smile and it looks like Jeff and Elaine are busy visiting.  Oh, did you know that Johanna is Jeff and Elaine's goddaughter?  Cool!!
From left to right, Bill, Teri, Jeff, Elaine, Coralee, Lance, Johanna, Lee and Kay.
Jeff and Elaine's faithful family are happy to see them.

Connconully Lake Fishing Trip

Going to Conconully Lake with Kay and Lee is a great way to start fishing season.  It is a beautiful setting and such a peaceful place to be.
The weather was cooler than usual this year but Bill and Lee are the consummate, die-hard fishermen.  But..just look at their success.  They catch fish when no one else is.
Our trailers are parked just feet from the bank of the lake.  It is such an ideal fishing camp.  Lee puts a lot of effort into getting their boat in their toy hauler so they can have the boat for trolling.  It's pretty fun to see the look on other campers' faces when he unloads a 14 foot boat and trailer from his trailer.  It's priceless.
The whole experience at Conconully Lake is priceless!!!

Hippie Chicks

A new experience.  Becky and Teri did the Hippie Chick Half Marathon - walking - of course!  We are at the starting area getting prepared for the event.
Pictured here are Susan Lamond and Amie Alapetri, mother and daughter. They were going to walk together but Amie wanted to attend her husband's niece's high school graduation (once in a lifetime occasion). Susan was a real sport and walked anyway.  Don't we all look ready for a nice walk.
Becky's friend, Jen Mogenson, (pictured with Becky) ran the half marathon with some friends.  Glad we got a picture before the event as Jen finished a while before us.  Jen wasn't feeling well so she didn't hang around waiting for us.  Teri and Becky at the finish line and we are still smiling.  There were a few times of being tired for Teri but Becky was an awesome, supportive cheerleader.  It was a great learning experience - lessons learned and goal achieved - finishing a half marathon.

Jason and Courtney's Moving Day

May 3rd was moving day for Jason and Courtney.  They found an almost 6 acre ranch in a great location off the beaten path near McKenna.  The house had been converted from a 3 bedroom home to a 2 bedroom home to make a large master suite which suited the previous owners.  Using their creativity to make the home just right for their family, they quickly converted the 2 car garage into 2 bedrooms so now they have 4 bedrooms and everyone has their own room to enjoy.
The combination barn/shop is perfect for the plans that Jason and Courtney have for their ranch.

Shortly after their move, they added two horses - Bella and Scotch.  The move was a  huge dream come true for them - a bigger home, acreage and horses.  We are so happy for them and the bonus was getting to help them move into their place.  We took our trailer and it worked out great for us.
Oliver, Jason's yellow lab seen above, and Jonah and Patches are enjoying the space to run.  Jason is unloading the trailer for the last load of the first day of moving.  There was plenty of help from Brett and Kyle and also their good friends, Doug and Christina Enfield.

The Phineas F. Bresee Award

Brandon received the Phineas F. Bresee Award at the awards ceremony for Caravans.  Individuals receive this award when they have completed the 6th grade and have completed all requirements.  Since moms and dads support their children through this program, they are on hand to help celebrate.
Becky presents the Caravan Co-Chairman, Christine and Eddie Miles, with some gifts as recognition of the outstanding job they have done with the Caravan program.  Kudos to them for the success of this valuable program for the youth.
Brandon shows us the beautiful cake done for all the award recipients.  Brandon is pictured with all the award recipients - Amelia Pruiett, Samantha Koenig, Sydney Koenig, Daniel McDougall, Adam Robinson and Gabe Miles.
