Our neighbors have told us we can't leave on July the 9th any more. We have had two brush fires in the sagebrush next to our property on July 9th (2012 and 2014) when we have been gone to get an early start on celebrating Teri's birthday. This year was a bigger, more destructive fire. Two manufactured homes were lost. We are grateful our neighbor has heavy equipment and a water truck. The fire line he created probably safed our home.
We took these pictures after we got home about 10:00 pm. Bill went to bed but Teri couldn't sleep until about 2:00 am. Kinda scary! The firefighters worked the fire all night. We are grateful for our local volunteer firefighters.
