From Arizona to Oregon

As we travel by I- 40 across AZ, we see this beautiful mountain in the the distance.  We were glad there was a scenic viewpoint that told us about it.  It is Humphreys Peak and is the highest point in AZ with an elevation of 12,637 feet.  It is located about 11 miles north of Flagstaff, AZ and is the highest of a group of extinct volcanic peaks known as the San Francisco Peaks.
Leaving I-40 to go north through Nevada on Hwy 93, we soon cross over Hoover Dam.  It's difficult to see the dam but we do get a glimpse of Lake Mead.
We begin to see snowy mountains as we get to northern Nevada (near Ely).  We are reminded that spring is late coming to many areas of our country.
We see the Snake River before and after we cross the bridge that divides Idaho and Oregon.
We decide to stop in Huntington, OR, to have lunch.  Howell's Cafe in this small town was once owned and operated by Bill's mother, Betty Busby, in the late 1960's and early 1970's.  Teri spent one summer waiting tables at this cafe.  Seems that we have a tradition of stopping here for lunch when we are in this area.  Always fun to reminisce.
We enjoyed visiting family in Baker City, OR.  Bill's nephew and his wife, Wade and Donna Minor, and their daughter, Hollie Ann, visited with us several times at Glenyth's house.  Hollie Ann is having fun with Glenyth's dog, MuShu.

We enjoyed time with Amber, Bill's niece, and her boys, Chris, Clay holding Panda, and Zach.  Bill even had Amber cut his hair.  The boys are Grandma Glenyth's side kicks.  We had lunch with Amber and her husband, Cody, her boys and Glenyth.  Forgot the camera on that day so we didn't get a picture of Cody (hope to next time).  Bill and Glenyth gave me the opportunity for a picture before we left to spend a night at Cove, OR, with friends, Pete and Suzy Lybecker.  We got home from this trip on April 24th, Easter Sunday, just in time for our daughter, Becky, to have us over for Easter dinner.
