Happy Fall Y'all

There is something special about every season.  Our trees and shrubs display their fall colors. 

This hydrangea bush is so different than any other I have had and the barberry bushes are gorgeous in their fall reds.

The trees are amazing in their different golds and reds.  The ornamental maple turns red and then gold as does the snowball tree.  The willow tree is more yellow than gold.  The last tree (species unknown to us) is fluffy gold.  This tree has the most unusual blooms in the spring.  The fluffy pink blooms appear before the leaves.  

Kathleen Playing High School Soccer

Kathleen (#10) played soccer for the West Valley High School Junior Varsity team.  The team had mostly wins.  In Germany, they don't have school sponsored sports so this was a lot of fun for Kathleen.

Kathleen played forward so she got in on the action by the goal.  She is a speed demon.

Sekiu in September

There is always something interesting to see on the water out of Sekiu.  We fish from Olsen's Resort and sometimes are in the fishing lanes with the big ships.  Yikes!

Bill and Teri caught 26 salmon in 9 days of fishing - 9 hatchery silvers, 15 wild silvers and 2 pinks.  A picture of our limit for one day.  It was lots of fun after we got the kicker motor fixed.  Feel safer with two motors working!!

Jim got up to Sekiu on Wednesday and Lee (and Kay) got there on Thursday of the 2nd week of our trip.  The weather did a total spin on us after they arrived.  Lots of wind and rain.  They did manage to catch 3 hatchery silvers and 6 wild silvers before being blown off the water.  While we were regrouping from the weather at camp, a gust of wind blew our tied-down awning onto the top of our trailer.  It broke an arm off the trailer on one side and broke the other arm where it met the awning on the other side.  It was pretty funny thinking back - 5 adults over 60 years old trying to get the awning off the roof of our trailer in pouring down rain.

Merry's First Homecoming

Merry is all dressed for her first homecoming dance.  Jayden and his girlfriend helped Merry get all ready to have a fun night with her date.  Pretty!

Megan's Birthday

Megan turned 10 on her birthday on 9/6/13.  She thanked Aunt Becky for her gift that she wore to school!

Fishing with Steve

Jason and Bill went fishing with Jason's boss, Steve, on the Columbia River near Longview on Sunday, September 8th.  This kind of river fishing includes lots of anchoring and tying off.  There are many other boats doing the same thing and you had better get there early if you want to choose your place to fish.  It was a good day of fishing - the limits were caught.
