Haiti and Mexico Mission Trips

 

 

 

In February 2013, Mike and Lindsey went to Haiti on a medical mission trip.  The organization that set up this trip provides a medical clinic for 1 week a month.  The clinic sees many, many people during that week and the people walk for miles to be seen.  What an amazing experience for Mike and Lindsey!  Lindsey loved the little ones! 

During spring break 2013, Becky, Lindsey and Brandon went on a mission trip to Mexico with the Selah Covenant Church.  They build a small concrete home for a young couple in the city of Tecate'.    Brandon set up the steps to the home.  The church has done this for many years.  They drive several vans and trucks with trailers filled with supplies.  It's a long drive but worth the effort to serve God!

Carrie Underwood Concert

We were thoroughly entertained at the Carrie Underwood Concert at the Sun Dome in Yakima on February 22, 2013.  This is the 3rd time that Carrie has performed at the Sun Dome.  She is amazing and beautiful.

Hunter Hayes opened for Carrie and did an awesome job.  Lots of energy and good music.

The pictures inside the Dome are always tricky because of the special lighting for the concert.  Thankfully, they brought this portable, overhead stage close to us so we could get some pretty good pictures of Carrie while she sang her heart out.

The portable stage is making its way from the front of the Dome toward us in the back.  We used binoculars to get a closer look every now and then but believe we could hear the music loud and clear.

Bill and Teri, Becky and her friend, Carol, and Kay and Lee went to the concert.  We enjoyed dinner at the Black Angus before attending the concert.  Dang!  My camera just doesn't do well with inside pictures.  Sorry, Kay and Lee!

Pack Horse

This was first time with a pack saddle for Scotch.  Hope the family has the opportunity to enjoy some pack trips with their horses.

Our Feathered Visitor

We have seen an occasional owl on a telephone pole nearby but it was fun to have this feathered visitor in the pine trees that line our yard.  He stayed around for about a week and then disappeared.

Valentine's Day

Several new azaleas and cut flowers.  The heart bowl fits right in for Valentine's Day.  We got it in Tennessee when visiting family in 2003.  Love hearts!!!

Freezing Fog

The rails on our deck looked like they were growing whiskers.  The freezing fog was an amazing sight.

The trees and shrubs were decorated with little icicles.

Plenty of snow and ice around today!!
